Six unique visitor experiences in Co. Mayo have joined forces to develop a new touring trail which will showcase 6,000 years of the region’s history, heritage and culture.
Route Millennia is a 64 kilometre trail that starts at the National Museum of Ireland – Country Life and ends at the world famous Céide Fields in Ballycastle.
The route takes in the National Museum of Ireland, Turlough Park, Castlebar; the Michael Davitt Museum, Straide; the Foxford Woollen Mills; Jackie Clarke Collection, Ballina; Belleek Castle Visitor Centre, Ballina; and the Céide Fields, Ballycastle.
The route is designed to provide visitors to Mayo with an easy to follow trail that takes in some of the county’s leading cultural attractions and a section of the Wild Atlantic Way.
Route Millennia will be officially launched at 2pm on Wednesday, May 31, 2017, at the Jackie Clarke Collection in Ballina.
